Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the attack in Stockholm, Sweden

OTTAWA, April 7, 2017 /CNW/ - The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement on the attack in Stockholm, Sweden:

"Canada strongly condemns the apparent terrorist attack in Stockholm today, which killed and injured many innocent people.

"Sophie and I join all Canadians in offering our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those killed in this cowardly attack. We also hope and pray for a speedy recovery for all those wounded.

"Canada grieves with our Swedish friends in this difficult time and we offer all possible assistance.

"We will continue working with our international partners and allies, including Sweden, to fight terrorism and help prevent these senseless acts."
