-- High Demand For Seats Continues Throughout the Windsor to Québec City Corridor --
MONTRÉAL, Feb. 2, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - With a winter storm hitting the Ontario and Québec regions and impacting other modes of transportation, VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) advises that almost all trains in the Windsor – Québec City corridor region are operating normally. Minimal delays may be expected, particularly in the South-Western Ontario area. However, because of a temporary closure of the railway, train # 84 used another route between London and Toronto, causing the cancellation of the service in St-Marys, Stratford, Kitchener, Guelph, Georgetown and Brampton.
As the storm continues to make its presence felt, VIA Rail expects demand for seats to continue. The Corporation will add capacity where possible to meet the increased demand. Passengers are therefore advised to book as early as possible and to verify departure and arrival times.
Information and reservations are available at viarail.ca or at 888 VIA-RAIL (888 842-7245), TTY 800-268-9503 (hearing impaired).
VIA Rail sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers by storm-related delays.
