TORONTO, Oct. 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Charney Lawyers PC has commenced a class action on behalf of Canadian consumers who purchased resale tickets through the "Verified by Ticketmaster", "TM+", "Fan-to-Fan", and/or "Tickets Now" programs run by Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
The plaintiff is an individual who resides in Toronto who recently paid $450 for two "Verified by Ticketmaster" tickets with a face value of under $100, as well as $85.50 in fees to Ticketmaster itself.
The class action alleges that Ticketmaster has engaged in business practices which encourage scalpers to flourish, forcing consumers from the lower-priced primary ticket market to the higher-priced resale ticket market, where Ticketmaster imposes additional fees on top of the fees levied in the primary ticket market.
Charney Lawyers is a leading class action firm. Mr. Charney has been counsel in major consumer protection class actions and is a frequent lecturer and author.
All Canadians who have purchased resale tickets on the Ticketmaster Canada website or on the Ticketmaster app are encouraged to register to receive more information about the class action by visiting www.ticketmasterclassaction.com or emailing email@example.com.
