Female Expertise at the Heart of Management and Operations
At SIB, parity is not just an administrative goal; it is an operational reality. Internal data analysis shows a marked female predominance at the core of operations and client relations: 77% of the property management team and 64% of the leasing team are women. On the ground, the company is also breaking conventions with a maintenance team (janitorial and cleaning services) composed of 78% female workers.
"Our managers and agents are the primary face of SIB. They ensure the long-term viability of our living environments. This strong female presence allows us to approach real estate with a level of rigor and humanity that explains our record occupancy rate of over 99%," says François Bélanger, President and Founder of SIB.
Preparing the Next Generation: 57% Future Women Leaders
Recognizing that the future of the industry depends on education, SIB actively integrates the next generation of female talent. Today, full-time and part-time students represent 20% of the company's total workforce. Notably, 57% of this student cohort is female. SIB is committed to providing these young women with a concrete professional path to propel them into key roles within the industry.
Leadership That Shines: The Journey of Evguenia Kapchii
While women still hold only 9% of C-suite positions in commercial real estate across North America, SIB's commitment is particularly embodied by Evguenia Kapchii, Director of Acquisitions. A recipient of the prestigious 2025 CREW M Scholarship and now Director of Communications and Marketing for this network at the provincial level, she plays a leading role in breaking the glass ceiling.
"My involvement with CREW M and my role at SIB share the same goal: to prove that high-level real estate is a field where women can and must lead. By creating spaces where diversity is truly expressed, we improve not only our corporate culture but the overall quality of the real estate industry," states Evguenia Kapchii.
Social Commitment: From Female Dignity to Community Support
Because dignity and inclusion are fundamental pillars of its ESG values, SIB has partnered with the Quebec firm Iris + Arlo to provide free ecological and biodegradable menstrual hygiene products to all its female employees.
This commitment to well-being is part of a broader corporate culture, deeply rooted in its region. Beyond its involvement in female leadership, SIB is very proud to actively support various social causes that directly impact families and children in the Capitale-Nationale region, notably through its support for Manoir Québec (Ronald McDonald House), the Kiwanis Club of Quebec, Opération Enfant Soleil, and Moisson Québec. For the company, acting as a leader in rental real estate means first and foremost taking care of its community at every level.
