Travel Advisory - VIA Rail suspends train service between Toronto and Montreal as well as Toronto and Ottawa

MONTREAL, July 18, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) wishes to inform its passengers that, due to the derailment of a CN train east of Oshawa at 14:15 blocking rail infrastructure, all trains are cancelled for the remainder of the day, between Toronto and Ottawa, as well as between Toronto and Montreal, in both directions. These train services are expected to resume Sunday morning. Trains between Montreal and Ottawa are operating on regular schedule.
All efforts are currently directed to assist passengers who are onboard en-route trains. VIA Rail is currently arranging for alternative transportation to those passengers.
VIA Rail is in contact with CN and it will confirm the time of service resumption as soon as available. Update to come. Update to come.
