RNAO's annual Media Awards competition is now open
TORONTO, Dec. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) is once again inviting reporters, editors and producers to submit their best nursing and health stories to its annual Media Awards competition.
RNAO's Media Awards honour outstanding journalism that helps to inform, analyze and contribute to a better understanding of nursing, health and the health-care system. These are just some of the topics that have captured headlines in the past year: medical tourism (the practice of generating revenue by soliciting patients from abroad), physician-assisted death and euthanasia, and our nation's flailing home-care system.
Past winners include journalists from media outlets such as the Ottawa Citizen, the Hamilton Spectator, Global News, and CBC Radio's World at Six.
