KELOWNA, BC, March 14, 2017 /CNW/ - Members of the media are invited to an information session aimed at providing passengers with advice to breeze through security at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) during the busy March break. During the busiest days of March break, more than 4,000 passengers are expected through security. The Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA) wants to make sure that the screening experience is quick and hassle-free for all passengers.

CATSA, established in 2002, is a Crown corporation responsible for:
- Pre-board screening – the screening of passengers, their carry-on baggage and their personal belongings;
- Hold baggage screening – the screening of checked baggage;
- Non-passenger screening – the screening of non-passengers on a random basis; and
- Restricted Area Identity Card – the administration of access control to airport restricted areas through biometric identifiers.
