Mercedes-Benz Canada continues impressive sales momentum and reports the company's best October ever
TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that the company has delivered 3,375 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles throughout October. This outstanding performance represents the best October results ever for the group, and an increase of 25.9% or 695 vehicles for the month. With a grand total of 30,752 cars, luxury light trucks and Sprinters sold by the Mercedes-Benz Canada network of corporate retail stores and private dealers, 2013 sales are ahead 5.5% or 1,611 units overall year-to-date.
Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks recorded 2,882 units sold. This is ahead a notable 28.9% or 646 vehicles relative to October 2012, and helped propel total sales to 25,951 units this year, which is up 4.7%.
An impressive 1,600 passenger cars were delivered, which represents an increase of 40.0% or 457 units for the month. Total passenger car sales are ahead 4.9% on a year-to-date basis with 14,512 cars retailed. The all-new CLA-Class posted excellent numbers for its second month on sale in the Canadian market, and B-Class, C-Class and E-Class deliveries also maintained their momentum and remained strong through October.
The entire range of Mercedes-Benz luxury light trucks continued to be very popular this past month, which pushed total sales ahead 17.3% in October with 1,282 units delivered. Of particular note were GLK-Class and M-Class sales, which were ahead 19.5% and 30.0% respectively. Overall, luxury light truck sales are up 4.4% in 2013 with 11,439 sold.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 75.3% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 78.2% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in October (excluding smart).
smart reported 232 vehicles retailed in October. This equates to a gain of 38.9% for the month, and helped bring year-to-date deliveries to 1,908 vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter division recorded 261 units delivered for the month. This brought year-to-date sales to 2,893 vehicles, which is up 580 units or 25.1%.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported 1,194 retail deliveries throughout October. A total of 11,425 Certified Pre-Owned vehicles have been sold by dealerships from coast-to-coast year year-to-date.
