VIA Rail makes it easier for you to discover the country
MONTRÉAL, June 2, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) is offering travellers in the Québec – Windsor corridor more flexibility with its reworked summer schedules. Starting today, passengers travelling between Montréal and Toronto can choose from two more daily departures, with more trains stopping in Brockville, Kingston, Belleville, Cobourg and Oshawa. For travellers between Montréal and Ottawa, another late Friday departure has been added. The total number of weekly frequencies in the Corridor has been increased by 8% and seat capacity has increased by 11.5%, giving vacationers and business people more flexibility in planning their summer trips.
VIA Rail is also offering a new range of rail passes that allow travellers to board its trains and travel across Canada, from coast to coast. What better way to spend the summer.
"We have developed a greater variety of rail passes that are tailored to meet vacationers' needs. Our intent is to encourage them to take the train and discover regions that boast all sorts of incredible cultural and outdoor activities," explained Martin R. Landry, Chief Commercial Officer. "Canada is a vast, magnificent country, and many people are still unaware of what some regions have to offer. Taking the train is a unique way to travel – passengers enjoy breathtaking scenery, and can make stop-overs in various cities along the route, allowing for some great discoveries."
