TORONTO, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - Canadians love LOTTO MAX and the Google Zeitgeist list proves it. In 2010, the search term LOTTO MAX was the 4th fastest rising search term, behind World Cup Soccer but ahead of Vancouver 2010, Justin Bieber and the popular television show "Glee".
"To be in the same category as these pop culture heavyweights demonstrates that Canadians want to know more about LOTTO MAX. The buzz this year has been incredible and we hope that it will continue into 2011!" said Wendy Montgomery, Vice President Lottery Marketing & Sales at OLG.
According to Google, June 2010 saw an increase of 82% in the number of Canadians searching for LOTTO MAX information since the beginning of the year.
LOTTO MAX launched nationwide in September 2009 and since then, Canadians have won almost $1.2 billion in prizes, including 206 winning MAXMILLIONS tickets and 19 jackpot winners. Full game information and unofficial winning numbers can be found on OLG.ca.
Tonight's LOTTO MAX jackpot is $28 million. Players can purchase tickets for this draw at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m.
For each $5 play, LOTTO MAX players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to forty-nine. ENCORE is also available on LOTTO MAX for $1.
