Over one million packages expected to move on each of Purolator's busiest days
TORONTO, Nov. 3, 2015 /CNW/ - Purolator is forecasting a surge in volume on Cyber Monday (Nov. 30), marking the third consecutive year that leading Canadian freight, package and logistics solutions provider will manage the first of two peak delivery dates during the holiday season.
The week before Christmas has traditionally been Purolator's peak period for the holiday season. With the increasing popularity of Black Friday, combined with the Cyber Monday online shopping fervor among Canadian retailers and consumers, Purolator expects to deliver over one million packages on each of Nov. 30 (Cyber Monday) and Dec. 16.
"Black Friday and Cyber Monday are here to stay in Canada," said Paul Merrick, Vice President of Field Operations at Purolator. "We've seen firsthand how Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping has caught on with Canadians who are looking for deals earlier in the season. Purolator's employees across Canada are ready to manage the surge in deliveries on this day, as part of the 23 million pieces we expect to move over the holiday season."
