TORONTO, June 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Before the mesh tank top, the Q-tip and the hunky doctor, there was pant-less running, parental shower sex and an ill advised wedding. Subsequent to its highly successful run of Pay television, this July, for the first time on specialty television, Girls makes its debut on Corus Entertainment's Cosmopolitan TV. Fans and newbies can catch the critically acclaimed and award-winning HBO series from the beginning, uncut and uncensored, when Season 1 premieres with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, July 4 at 9 p.m. ET on CosmoTV. A Free Preview will be available in 6.9 Million Canadian homes between Monday, July 1 and Wednesday, July 31 with participating TV providers. 

Created by and starring Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture), Girls takes a comic look at the assorted humiliations and rare triumphs of a group of women in their early 20s.  Dunham, Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Ilene S. Landress and Bruce Eric Kaplan executive produce the show.

This series will be supported with a marketing campaign that will include a Girls contest with a grand prize of a trip for two to New York City to attend a Girls red carpet premiere event. Viewers can go to facebook.com/cosmotv to enter beginning Monday, July 1. The contest winner will be announced on-air during the final episode on Thursday, August 1.
