Corus Entertainment Launches YTVGo and NickGO TV Everywhere Apps
TORONTO, Sept. 22, 2015 /CNW/ - Following the successful debut of TreehouseGO in June, Corus Entertainment today announced the launch of two new TV Everywhere apps, YTVGo and NickGO, the latest apps in a suite of kids services to roll out this fall. The apps will be available at no additional charge to subscribers of YTV and Nickelodeon services in Canada on iOS and Android devices. These apps give kids and families access to live YTV and Nickelodeon network streams along with an extensive offering of their favourite on-demand episodes. Additional Corus apps will continue to roll out in the coming months.
"The YTV and Nick apps allow kids and families to customize their programming and experience these fun and interactive brands wherever and whenever they choose," said Colin Bohm, Executive Vice President, Head of Corus Kids. "In addition to delivering the live brand experience, these kids apps also give us the flexibility to exclusively premiere series and sample exciting new content."
YTVGo is designed with the spirit of the brand in mind and features fan-favourite series including SpongeBob SquarePants, Some Assembly Required, Make It Pop, Max & Shred and Fairly OddParents, to name a few. Content will be refreshed monthly and new series will be added in tandem with the network series premieres. NickGO is a fun environment that promotes discovery and gives kids the chance to explore Nick series like iCarly, Rabbids Invasion, Every Witch Way, Sam & Cat and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
YTV and Nick subscribers can download the apps from the iTunes App Store or Google Play in Canada.
Corus' apps are built using You.i Engine software, developed by Ottawa-based startup You.i TV, which powers the user experience across all platforms. These apps are also supported by technologies from the Platform, Adobe Primetime, Penthera, Akamai and Elemental.
