OTTAWA, Aug. 16, 2016 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada has launched its public consultation to engage with Canadians on the evolving cyber security landscape.
This consultation will help identify gaps and opportunities, bring forward new ideas to shape Canada's renewed approach to cyber security and capitalize on the advantages of new technology and the digital economy.
From now until October 15, 2016, Public Safety Canada will be leading the consultation by engaging stakeholders and Canadians on the trends and challenges of cyber security, as well as on new initiatives under consideration which will strive to build Canada's resilience, capability and innovation in cyber security. Topics include:
- The Evolution of the Cyber Threat;
- The Increasing Economic Significance of Cyber Security;
- The Expanding Frontiers of Cyber Security; and
- Canada's Way Forward on Cyber Security.
This is part of the Government's commitment to keep Canadians safe in cyberspace and position Canada as an innovative leader in cyber security.
