Boston Pizza Adds 'Most Valuable Burger' to its All-Star Lineup

Sizzling new summer menu offers Canadians more must-try burger creations

MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 27, 2016 /CNW/ - Adding to a powerhouse lineup of all-star menu items, Boston Pizza today unveiled a new mouth-watering summer menu featuring the Most Valuable Burger (MVB) and a delicious selection of new, soon-to-be fan favourites and crowd pleasers.

"Summer is burger season in Canada, and we're coming out swinging with a revamped menu that's sure to draw a standing ovation from burger lovers across the country," says Steve Silverstone, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Boston Pizza. "Whether it's a dinner with the kids, taking in a Jays game in our sports bar with friends, or ordering take-out or delivery, we can't wait for Canadians to step-up to the plate and try our epic new burger creations this summer."    

Anchoring the new summer lineup is Boston Pizza's new signature burger, the MVB – 100 per cent Canadian beef patty made with only salt and pepper, the MVB is topped with BP's signature cactus dip and real Canadian cheddar cheese and served on a soft and sweet brioche bun. It joins all-time menu favourites such as the Spicy Perogy Burger, Double Bacon BBQ Burger and Pepperoni Bacon Pizzaburger.

Boston Pizza is also introducing a sweet twist on the classic burger with the new Dessert Burger-- made with rich ice cream, chocolate ganache and sandwiched between two sweet potato buns. Only Boston Pizza can offer a burger for dinner and dessert.

"Boston Pizza has always been renowned for having an inventive menu of original creations that Canadians crave, and the new Dessert Burger will certainly be no exception this summer," says Silverstone.

Just in time for the hot patio-season are BP's refreshing Handcrafted Quenchers, made with all-natural flavours, no added sugar or artificial sweeteners. These sparkling beverages are available in a variety of flavours— Black Raspberry, Cucumber & Lime and Mango & Ginger – and are all under 45 calories. Delicious Watermelon Sangria and Watermelon Mojitos are also available.

Rounding out the new summer menu are these three mouth-watering dishes:

• Asian Shrimp Salad - Romaine lettuce, napa cabbage, julienned carrots and red peppers tossed in carrot ginger dressing and topped with edamame, Asian noodles, two shrimp skewers;
• Tacos - Three grilled soft tacos filled with lettuce, red onions, cilantro, cheddar and tomatoes with a hint of lime, topped with crunchy tortilla strips, creamy sweet chili sauce and a choice of breaded jalapeño shrimp or grilled chicken breast;
• Mediterranean Flatbread - Signature marinara sauce, pizza mozzarella, Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, red onions and feta on BP's flatbread.
