Betty Announces New Funding for Kirkland Lake Charities, Building on Community Impact
From making youth sports more accessible to preserving historic landmarks, Betty's charitable contributions are helping local organizations create lasting change.
KIRKLAND LAKE, ON, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ -- Betty Gaming CA Ltd. (Betty), an Ontario-licensed online casino and iBingo operator, is announcing an additional $3,842,852 CAD in charitable funding for Kirkland Lake organizations, building on its initial contribution of more than $2 million in May 2026.
The announcement comes as local charities are already demonstrating the impact of this funding, helping young athletes pursue their goals, expanding recreational opportunities and preserving treasured community spaces.
"What's most meaningful is seeing how local organizations are putting this funding to work," said Aneliya Vu, Chief Compliance Officer at Betty. "From helping young athletes compete to preserving community landmarks, these contributions are making a tangible difference while giving organizations the resources to invest in their future."
Breaking Down Barriers for Young Athletes
For local sports organizations, Betty's funding is helping remove financial barriers and create opportunities for young athletes.
The Kirkland Lake Swampdonkeys Basketball Club has funded a trip to a Toronto Tempo game, giving players the opportunity to experience professional women's basketball firsthand. The club has also purchased training equipment and introduced a reimbursement program to help families cover expenses such as shoes and uniforms.
The Kirkland Lake Aquatic Club Stingrays is covering competition fees for swimmers, investing in underwater camera technology to improve training and sponsoring monthly community swims for the next year. Future plans include an Olympic athlete-led training camp and upgraded starting blocks.
Preserving Kirkland Lake's Community Landmarks
Funding is also helping protect the spaces that bring residents together.
Save The LaSalle, the non-profit preserving Kirkland Lake's historic LaSalle Theatre, has eliminated its outstanding debt, allowing the organization to shift its focus toward critical repairs and restoration.
"For a long time, our focus was simply on keeping the theatre afloat," said Michael Rawley, Managing Artistic Director of Save The LaSalle. "Eliminating our debt means we can finally focus on restoring this important piece of Kirkland Lake's history for future generations."
Paroisse Assomption Parish, a longstanding gathering place for the francophone community, has funded essential maintenance, including new outdoor lighting and washroom fixtures, while covering operating costs. Planned improvements include heating and window upgrades, alongside increased support for the parish's Christmas baskets
Building on a Lasting Commitment
Betty's charitable contributions are made possible through Ontario's regulated charitable gaming framework, following its acquisition of Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall in late 2025. A portion of Betty's Ontario online gaming revenue supports licensed local charities through the Kirkland and Area Bingo Association.
The initial contribution of more than $2 million supported 15 local organizations. With additional funding now being announced, Betty's ongoing contributions are helping Kirkland Lake charities move beyond immediate financial needs to create lasting opportunities for residents.
