25 years of the Bal des Grands Cœurs: $1,471,000 raised for the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation Français
MONTREAL, Sept. 5, 2025 /CNW/ - The 25th edition of the Bal des Grands Cœurs, the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation's flagship event, was held at Marché Bonsecours last night. The event was a spirited tribute to dedication and generosity with more than 800 guests in attendance helping to raise $1,471,000 for cardiovascular health.
This anniversary edition also brought together a record number of honorary co-chairs — business leaders and philanthropists — who joined forces to make this edition an incredible success. Their collective dedication is a testament to the power of community that drives the MHI's mission.
Even today, cardiovascular diseases remain a major public health threat. In fact, one out of 12 Canadians has been diagnosed with heart disease. With the help of the Foundation's loyal donors, the MHI aims to reduce the rate of mortality associated with this condition by 30% by 2030.
"People truly have the power to change things. The generosity of those who attended the Bal des Grands Coeurs has allowed us to reach an important milestone as we work to achieving this goal we all share," said Alain Gignac, President and CEO of the MHI Foundation.
Each and every one of the MHI's projects represents a step toward this objective and makes it possible for science and care to sustainably change the lives of patients. The funds raised at the Bal des Grands Cœurs will go to supporting cutting-edge projects, making advances in personalized care, training the next generation of talent, and bolstering prevention initiatives.
Guests at the 25th edition of the Bal des Grands Cœurs enjoyed an electrifying atmosphere that matched the significance of the event. Thanks to the unwavering support of its founding partners, the SAQ and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, and its platinum partners, BMO and Power Corporation of Canada, the Foundation has proved once more how impactful bold philanthropy can be.
