/R E P E A T -- MEDIA ADVISORY - Groundbreaking at VIA Rail's Toronto Maintenance Centre with Transport Minister Omar Alghabra/

TORONTO, July 7, 2023 /CNW/ - VIA Rail's new President and Chief Executive Officer Mario Péloquin and Transport Minister Omar Alghabra will be at VIA Rail's Toronto Maintenance Centre (TMC) on Monday, July 10 to break ground on construction and transformation of this building which is a key pillar of the Québec City-Windsor corridor Fleet Replacement Program.

This major upgrade will provide a state-of-the-art maintenance facility for VIA Rail's new Corridor fleet of 32 trains through the construction of new facilities and the improvements of critical infrastructure, creating up to 475 local jobs in the trade and construction industries between now and completion in 2026.
