Safe Driving Study reveals that December 21, 22, 23 are the worst days for car collisions
TORONTO, Dec. 19, 2014 /CNW/ - A 20 year study of collision claims data (1994-2013) from Allstate Insurance Company of Canada customers, reveals that December 21, 22 and 23 have the highest number of collision claims. Over the past 20 years, these three days had 9,340 collision claims, an average of 3,113 claims per day. Conversely December 25, the safest driving day of the year, had only 1,095 collision claims.
While the data doesn't reveal the cause of these collisions, these three days are among the busiest shopping days of the year, when drivers are faced with increasing amounts of stress while tasked with navigating busy parking lots, often under poor weather conditions. With driving conditions particularly hazardous over the holiday season, Allstate urges drivers to stay focused, be patient and drive with caution, to ensure the season stays merry.
