Visionary Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann and Warner Bros. Pictures' "ELVIS" Rocks Its Way Into Immersive 270-Degree ScreenX Theaters

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., June 15, 2022 /CNW/ -- CJ 4DPLEX, one of the world's leading producer of premium film formats and cinema technologies, announced today that Baz Luhrmann's highly-anticipated Warner Bros. Pictures epic drama "Elvis" will debut in 270-degree panoramic ScreenX theaters worldwide starting June 22. In the United States, the film will open with early pre-shows starting on June 21 in select locations, followed by wide release on June 24.
By expanding specially selected film sequences onto the left and right-side walls of the auditorium, ScreenX surrounds and transports moviegoers into the story of the film. CJ 4DPLEX worked closely with Warner Bros. Pictures to ensure the highest quality presentation of the cinematic film that guarantees an immersive, 270-degree panoramic viewing experience that can't be replicated anywhere else.
"Elvis" will be available on over 380 panoramic screens worldwide and over 74 such screens at Regal Cinemas, Cineplex, B&B Theatres, Cinepolis and CGV Cinemas across North America.

"Elvis" is an epic, big-screen spectacle from Warner Bros. Pictures and visionary, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley, starring Austin Butler and Oscar winner Tom Hanks. A thoroughly cinematic drama, Elvis's (Butler) story is seen through the lens of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). As told by Parker, the film delves into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley's rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America. Central to that journey is one of the significant and influential people in Elvis's life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).
Starring alongside Butler and Hanks, award-winning theater actress Helen Thomson ("Top of the Lake: China Girl," "Rake") plays Elvis's mother, Gladys, Richard Roxburgh ("Moulin Rouge!" "Breath," "Hacksaw Ridge") portrays Elvis's father, Vernon, and DeJonge ("The Visit," "Stray Dolls") plays Priscilla. Oscar nominee Luhrmann ("The Great Gatsby," "Moulin Rouge!") directed from a screenplay by Baz Luhrmann & Sam Bromell and Baz Luhrmann & Craig Pearce and Jeremy Doner, story by Baz Luhrmann and Jeremy Doner.
