Two Provinces, One Day: Red Apple Marks Store Transformations in Provost and Maple Creek

Provost welcomes back a refreshed Red Apple, while Maple Creek says goodbye to The Bargain! Shop and hello to Red Apple

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 31, 2026 /CNW/ -- On Friday, September 25, 2026, Red Apple will unveil two transformations on the same day: a full renovation in Provost, AB, and Maple Creek, SK's rebrand from The Bargain! Shop. Both stores have stayed open throughout construction; September 25 is simply the day shoppers get to see the finished result.

Two Towns, Two Different Changes

In Maple Creek, The Bargain! Shop banner comes down and Red Apple goes up in a building formerly occupied by a SAAN store, which opened as a Bargain! Shop in May 2005. The 6,500-square-foot sales floor is getting a full interior overhaul: aisles are moving from a multi-directional layout to long, straight runs to improve merchandise flow, apparel will be merchandised on gondolas to make the most of the smaller footprint, and the store is adding seasonal apparel wall presentations and a new Candyworks™ candy shop. Outside, shoppers will see a freshly painted red façade and Red Apple's latest exterior signage package.

Provost's 8,100-square-foot Red Apple, open since November 30, 2008, is getting a refresh. The update includes an improved merchandise flow, strategic breaks in the gondola runs, a dedicated promotional aisle, seasonal apparel walls, and an upgraded Candyworks candy shop.

Maple Creek is different: same building, same team, but a new name on the door and a new experience inside."
