MOLLY MAID sweeps in to help restock Salvation Army Food Banks

TORONTO, July 8 /CNW/ - The Salvation Army is thrilled to once again be partnering with MOLLY MAID and its customers in an effort to collect non-perishable food items to help restock depleted shelves this summer.

"The national economy is still recovering and in fact, the demand for services provided by The Salvation Army has increased by more than 25% over the past year," says Graham Moore, Territorial Secretary for Public Relations and Development for The Salvation Army. "On behalf of the more than 1.5 million people that we serve each year, we are extremely grateful for the support of MOLLY MAID and its wonderful customers."

"Our customers are extremely generous when it comes to our annual Christmas in July Food Drive," says Amelia Mackie with the MOLLY MAID office in Mississauga, Ontario. "Most of our customers leave packages of food for our staff to pick up when they are having their home serviced."

Franchises across the country have confirmed their participation and are collecting food throughout the month of July.

MOLLY MAID has run other supportive initiatives in the past, including their annual winter coat drive. Since 2003, MOLLY MAID Franchise Owners and customers have donated nearly 100,000lbs of food to support the Salvation Army and other local food banks in numerous communities across the country.
