The Edelman Trust Barometer began as a survey to help Edelman understand how and why individuals trust or don't trust institutions. It has now grown into a global authoritative research tool. The idea for the survey came from Richard Edelman, the CEO of Edelman Public Relations. When he witnessed "The Battle of Seattle" protest in which 40,000 people protested globalization, he realized that many people do not trust governmental and corporate institutions.
The annual survey, which interviews 33,000 people in 27 countries, takes resources and commitment, but has positioned Edelman as a thought leader on the topic of trust and reputation management and they have since become market leaders in this segment.
The Edelman Trust Barometer: Building Market Leadership through Thought Leadership discusses how great content can:
- Guarantee a place at the center of the conversation
- Drive insights and inspire or influence ancillary content projects that will point back to your content
- Expand and solidify a brand (or individual) as an influencer in their space
