TORONTO, June 25, 2016 /CNW/ - The 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association is proud to announce its support of the Alberta's June 27th PTSD Awareness Day through a unique fund-raising initiative.
Alberta MLA, Nicole Goehring, who introduced the PTSD awareness bill in the Alberta Legislature said "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, unfortunately, can affect anyone but it has a higher ability to impact those on the front line. So, our firefighters that are out there right now fighting the fires, our first responders, and our military, all of those people have a higher risk of developing PTSD." Goehring says with the wildfire in Fort McMurray, this makes the bill even more relevant.
The 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association will raise funds through an Indiegogo fundraising campaign for the sale of patent pending, pairs of socks, printed with an image a firefighter. The sale of the socks will be limited to 2,705 pairs representing the 2,705 firefighters and support staff fighting the fires at Fort McMurray, Alberta.
The price of the socks is $29.95 per pair plus Shipping and Handling. Every penny raised by the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association, after production expenses will be donated to Canadian Red Cross for their Fort McMurray campaign.
The 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association commemorates the deeds of the Canadian and American citizen armies from World War 1. The 4th CMRA provides a present-day voice by honoring these citizen armies through re-enactment, education, memorials and community participation and promotes understanding of Canadian and American military history, and those in active service
