MONCTON, NB, June 11, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, Ian Cunningham, Chief Operating Officer of Tangerine and Adam Bienenstock, CEO and Principal Designer of Bienenstock Playgrounds were joined by Moncton Mayor George H. LeBlanc for a one-day build in Centennial Park to provide a natural playground and community gathering space for local children and families. Over 150 employees and community volunteers participated in the build, which is a part of Tangerine's newly launched sponsorship and community investment platform, #BrightWayForward, which supports programs across the country that inspire self-esteem, teamwork and leadership and encourage a sense of belonging and acceptance.
"Moncton is home to more than 130 Tangerine employees so this park build is particularly meaningful for my team and me," said Ian Cunningham, Chief Operating Officer, Tangerine. "I am pleased to be here today, alongside our friends at Bienenstock, the City of Moncton and 150 employees and community members, to create a safe, fun environment that will benefit local children and families for years to come."
Since 2009, Tangerine and Bienenstock Playgrounds have worked together to build natural playgrounds and revitalize community spaces across Canada. The Moncton build is Tangerine's fifth park build with Bienenstock, having previously completed projects in Toronto, Ottawa and Vancouver. The natural playground and outdoor space was jointly funded by a $75,000 investment from Tangerine and a contribution of $80,000 in goods and services from the City of Moncton. The park features an amphitheater, musical instruments, granite boulders, and an embankment slide among other features to beautify the space.
In 2011, Tangerine opened its Moncton Contact Centre which currently employs 135 Tangerine team members who help bring to the life the award-winning client service that Tangerine is known for.
