- Team Offtrax is confident their vehicle of choice, a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek, is up for it.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 7, 2015 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to announce that Team Offtrax will be completing Subaru's Arctic Adventure with a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek as part of their lifelong pursuit of global exploration. The Team Offtrax duo, Corinne Copreni and Jess Watt, will start a memorable three-week Arctic Circle road trip, beginning on August 8, at a Subaru dealership in Victoria, BC. Team Offtrax plans to do everything from snorkeling with salmon in BC to sand-boarding in the Yukon and trekking through Inuvik, all while conquering rough roads and tackling adventurous terrain through the Yukon and Northwest Territories – proving the Subaru Crosstrek is up for it.
Team Offtrax is more than confident in their vehicle of choice on Subaru's Arctic Adventure: a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek. Offering all of the benefits of a true crossover, including a generous 220 mm of ground clearance, ample cargo space and excellent versatility, the XV Crosstrek is a right-sized and capable crossover for any adventure. Starting from $24,995, the XV Crosstrek's 2.0-litre SUBARU BOXER engine and symmetrical full-time All-Wheel Drive system provide all the tools necessary to stay surefooted in any road and weather conditions. Furthermore, efficiency remains top of mind in the XV Crosstrek as it is one of the most fuel-efficient All-Wheel Drive crossover utility vehicles in North America, returning figures of 9.1 L / 100 km city and 7.0 L / 100 km highway when equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Making the decision even easier, the XV Crosstrek is also a notoriously safe vehicle – thanks in part to its ring-shaped reinforcement frame, standard on all Subaru models, and is an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick (TSP) and TSP+ for models equipped with the optional advanced EyeSight driver assist system.
"Team Offtrax is extremely excited to get back behind the wheel of another Subaru XV Crosstrek, especially in our home country," said Corinne Copreni from Team Offtrax. "Thanks to Subaru Canada and the XV Crosstrek we're able to check another item off our bucket list – crossing the Arctic Circle."
"Knowing that Team Offtrax has selected to complete their Arctic Adventure with a 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek speaks volumes to all four of our brand pillars – safety, versatility, performance and durability," said Shiro Ohta, president, chairman and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. "I wish them luck on their journey and hope the XV Crosstrek complements every aspect of the adventures they'll have."
Team Offtrax, Corinne Copreni and Jess Watt, are no strangers to adventure, or the Subaru XV Crosstrek for that matter. In 2014 the pair completed the Mongolia Charity Rally, driving from London to Ulaanbaatar, and then back again – 33,497 km in total through 36 countries – in a Subaru XV Crosstrek. They were the first women to complete the Mongolia Charity Rally and even mapped out their own long route on their return to London as the event is usually only a one-way rally.
