Renowned Landscape Architect Claude Cormier and his iconic waterfront parks to be celebrated May 22nd English
TORONTO, May 19, 2026 /CNW/ - A unique celebration of five iconic public spaces, and commemoration of Landscape Architect Claude Cormier who designed them, will play out across Toronto's waterfront this Friday May 22nd.
"Love Parade! Remembering Claude Cormier, Landscape Architect" will feature a guided bike tour along Toronto's waterfront, bringing together park enthusiasts to celebrate five parks designed by Cormier and his studio, CCxA. At each stop, participants will hear brief remarks from landscape architects, designers, city-builders and project partners, offering insight into the vision, design and impact of each park.
The 12.7 kilometer ride will start at HTO Park on Queens Quay, and proceed to Love Park, Berczy Park, Sugar Beach and Leslie Lookout Park. The Love Parade Bike Tour will become a permanent offering of Toronto tourism with sign installations at each stop.
Before he passed away in 2023, Cormier received over 100 awards with recognition at the highest level from the Canadian and American Societies of Landscape Architects.
Speakers will be available for media interviews at the Sugar Beach stop or at the other parks (see attached schedule). Media are invited to join the tour or specific stops.
