Release of the eHealth Special Report by the Auditor General of Ontario

TORONTO , Oct. 1 /CNW/ - The Auditor General of Ontario will release his Special Report on eHealth's electronic health records initiative on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 .

The 50-page Special Report examines the Ontario government's investment of $1 billion over the past decade towards creating a system of electronic health records of all Ontarians. The report also probes recent allegations of untendered consultant contracts at eHealth Ontario and other procurement issues.

    
    Report Distribution:   The report will first be distributed to MPPs on
                           the morning of October 7, and copies will then be
                           delivered to the Queen's Park press gallery by
                           9:30 a.m. The copies will be accompanied by a news
                           release.

    Press Conference:      The Auditor is holding a press conference at the
                           Queen's Park media studio from 10:00 a.m. to
                           10:25 a.m., October 7. The news release will be
                           distributed over Canada News Wire at 9:45 a.m.
                           that day. Hard copies of the news release will
                           also be available at the press conference.
