CF 1 K Kids Run/Walk and CF 5 K Adult Run/Walk take place at CF Shops at Don Mills on April 24th
TORONTO, April 12, 2016 /CNW/ - On Sunday, April 24th Cadillac Fairview (CF) is hosting its 12th annual charity CF Run/Walk. For the second consecutive year, the initiative is raising funds in support of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) with 100 per cent of the funds helping to support advanced cancer care and research for affected children.
"Cadillac Fairview is proud to continue its support for local causes by rallying the community and our partners together on this important day," said John Knechtel, Vice President, Leasing and CF Run/Walk Event Chair, Cadillac Fairview. "The annual CF Run/Walk is a reflection of our corporate beliefs in supporting the communities in which we conduct business and in particular programming that benefits youth in need."
In 2015, the CF Run/Walk attracted 600 participants and raised $250,000 to support SickKids and POGO. This year, CF hopes to grow participation to 800 entrants and build on the donation total as part of a $1 million fundraising goal in support of both charities over the next few years. CF invites community members to join employees, tenants and business partners for this family friendly event by participating in the CF Run/Walk, cheering on a loved one or donating to the cause.
Two separate races, the CF 1 K Kids Run/Walk and the CF 5 K Adult Run/Walk will start and finish at CF Shops at Don Mills where fashion, dining and entertainment come outside to play. The CF 1 K Kids Run/Walk kicks off the festivities at 9:30 a.m. The traffic-free course for youth aged 12 and under takes place entirely on the CF Shops at Don Mills' grounds. The CF Adult 5 K Run/Walk, open to those ages 13 and over, begins at 10:00 a.m. Both races start and finish at Town Square. The full route map is posted at cadillacfairview.ca/route-map.
For more information on how to participate, individually or as a team, or to donate visit www.cadillacfairviewrun.ca. Registration will close on April 20, 2016 at 11:45 p.m.
