MONTREAL, June 23, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - On 20 September, 2015, over 35,000 participants will be running to the beat of over 20 live music performances presented along the itineraries of Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon's races. They will also be able to see a free concert by Hedley at the finish line in Parc Lafontaine.
"People who participate in the Marathon are looking to be entertained all along the races, which the rock'n'roll aspect of the event allows for by creating a festive atmosphere," Dominique Arsenault, the Marathon's spokesperson underscores.
While participants will run 1, 5, 10, 21.1 or 42.2 kilometres, Hedley will travel over 4,500 km from its native British Columbia to fuel the runners' high at the finish line. With its catchy pop rock songs and famous ballads, the band will certainly get everyone singing and dancing, from runners to supporters and the general public, all of whom are invited to the show, which will begin around noon.
"The Marathon attracts runners from all categories, regardless of age, as well as families. The musical aspect of the event is what really sets it apart from other marathons. For this 25th edition, the organization is expecting over 35,000 participants," Arsenault proudly explains.
Interested runners can take part in one of five races at the biggest running event in Quebec, including the most popular half-marathon in Canada.
The Montreal Marathon—a part of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series since 2012—presents its most complete concert line-up yet, giving participants the chance to discover new local acts and plenty of other surprises.
