- Pharmacy Expo to showcase innovation in products, services
- Strategic Appointments move to fall
- Fred Horne, former Alberta Health Minister, to headline first Executive Summit
TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2015 /CNW/ - The Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada (Neighbourhood Pharmacies) today announced significant enhancements to its annual events program, as well as event highlights.
Executive Summit 2015
The first major change to the events program occurs at the fall's Executive Summit, October 28-29, 2015, which will now host the Association's Strategic Appointments sessions. This is a two-day event brings together the industry's senior personnel for an opportunity to discuss and learn about the top issues driving industry change over the coming 18 months to two years.
"The neighbourhood pharmacy industry is undergoing dramatic change," said Denise Carpenter, President and CEO of Neighbourhood Pharmacies. "We want our events to consistently exceed attendees' needs and expectations, and to hold top spot on their calendars. The changes we are announcing today respond directly to attendee research and feedback. Our goal is simple: to convene industry leaders for thought-provoking discussions that will shape both new healthcare policy and the future of our industry."
The Executive Summit's featured guest speaker is Fred Horne, former Alberta Minister of Health, who is widely credited with managing the expansion of reimbursed pharmacy services in that province, beginning in 2011. Horne will address executives on the first evening and present a keynote address to the plenary session on the morning of October 29.
The other featured speaker is Elliot M. Sogol, Vice President Professional Relations Pharmacy Quality Solutions, of Durham, NC, who will address the gathering on "The evolving business model of Pharmacy: Quality and performance metrics impact" – a not-to-be-missed presentation. Sogol co-authored "The Good Pharmacist – Characteristics, virtues, habits."
The Day Two program continues with a series of presentations focusing on the "Evolving Business Model of Pharmacy" by retail industry leaders and moderated roundtable discussions.
Introducing – the Pharmacy Expo
The Association's major annual spring gathering will become the Pharmacy Expo, June 13-16, 2016, and showcase the latest innovations in pharmacy products and services. Our new Expo focuses on six key areas of the business: Pharmacy and Prescription Care; Specialty and Long-Term Care; Consumer Health; Home Healthcare, Front Store; and, Health & Beauty. This new offering will create one-of-a-kind opportunities for retailers and their suppliers to come together to form new relationships that will drive revenue, efficiencies and bottom-line gains.
A further Pharmacy Expo enhancement is the active participation of all sectors in Canada's pharmacy industry community. This will broaden the scope of the event to include the [brand pharma, device, distribution, health & beauty and front store sectors], and provide expanded business opportunities, as well as a more efficient use of attendees' meetings and events budgets.
Executive Summit – October 28 – 29, 2015 Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto
Pharmacy Expo – June 13 – 16, 2016, Enercare Centre (Formerly the Direct Energy Centre), Exhibition Place, Toronto
