Young talented dancers who are seriously considering a career as a professional contemporary dancer are invited to take part in the Peliminary Auditions and the Master Class which is offered for free.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a solid technique in classical, jazz or contemporary dance and is creative. The applicant should clearly desire to undertake a college level professional training program of contemporary dance. The School offers a 3-year college-level education based on the mastery of contemporary dance techniques, the development of artistic and intellectual skills and versatility in performance. The program: daily technical classes, courses on the interpretation of the contemporary repertoire, participation in creations by renowned artists, on-stage experience and collaboration with internationally renowned choreographers, master teachers and dancers. The School has rigorous entrance criteria and selects only 20 candidates from among the most talented applicants.
Registration is mandatory and must be made online. Late registration (24 hours before the audition) will be at each national audition location. The registration fee is $50. The final auditions will take place in Montreal on March 16-17, 2013.

Since 1981, the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal has been training professional dancers who have gone on to earn national and international recognition. The School is a centre of excellence in the performing arts and has trained more than 200 dancers who now perform with renowned dance companies in Quebec, Canada and abroad, including Compagnie Marie Chouinard, O Vertigo, Cas public, Cirque du Soleil, Le Carré des Lombes and Compagnie Flak.
