Morneau Shepell compensation survey shows more than 40% of Canadian employers plan management training on mental health for 2014 Français
TORONTO, Sept. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - More than 40% of Canadian employers in Morneau Shepell's annual Compensation Survey plan to implement management training initiatives in 2014 to address the issue of mental health in the workplace. The initiatives aim to help remove the stigma associated with mental health issues by equipping managers to better address these matters as they arise.
Conducted between June and August this year, Morneau Shepell's 31st annual Compensation Survey includes input from more than 300 organizations employing nearly three million people. The benchmark organizations are mostly from the manufacturing (28%), services (26%), and finance (12%) sectors.
In addition, in response to the new voluntary National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace, one-third of survey respondents plan to implement policies in this respect next year while 20% did so during the last two years.
Morneau Shepell is holding breakfast seminars in nine cities across Canada to present the results of its Compensation Survey, including the findings on trends and projections in the areas of compensation, benefits, pensions and health. The dates and cities for the seminars include:
