Janet Kennedy brings more than a decade of innovation at Microsoft to Canadian team
TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Microsoft Corporation today announced the appointment of Janet Kennedy to the role of President, Microsoft Canada Inc.
With over a decade of accomplishments at Microsoft, Janet has a track record of success at the organization, with a particular focus on the move to cloud services. Kennedy joins Microsoft Canada at a time of growth for the company, which is making a global shift to a services and devices organization.

"The foundations that have been built by my predecessors are incredibly strong, and I'm honoured to be making Canada - and Microsoft Canada - my new home."
Kennedy joined Microsoft in 2002 with a focus on helping shape the organization's Industry approach, specializing in Retail & Hospitality. For the past 5 years, Kennedy has been the Regional Vice President for Enterprise customers, first in the US West Region, and most recently in US Central Region. In this role Kennedy grew the business by more than $1 billion to over $3 billion and has been instrumental in leading the transformation to the cloud with some of the largest and earliest customers on Office 365.

Prior to Microsoft, Kennedy had a long career at IBM in numerous roles. She received a degree in Industrial Management/Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and earned her MBA from McColl School of Business, Queens University in Charlotte, N.C.
Janet will begin the transition immediately. Her move to Canada will happen quickly, as relocation details are finalized.
