Mercer's Best Built Structures Ranks No. 40 on 2014 PROFIT 500 List
HALIFAX, June 12, 2014 /CNW/ - Today Mercer's Best Built Structures achieved a ranking of #40 in the 26th annual PROFIT 500 ranking of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies by Canadian Business and PROFIT. Mercer's achieved recognition on the 2014 PROFIT 500 list with five-year revenue growth of 1,488 %. This is the second year in a row that Mercer's Best Built Structures has been recognized as one of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies. It ranked 22nd last year with revenue growth at 2,353 percent! Profit 500 ranks Canadian businesses by their revenue growth over five years.
Mercer's Best Built Structures has built a strong reputation as a trusted builder of homes, cottages, and attached and detached garages in Nova Scotia. As well as new construction Mercer's is also an expert full-services construction company for residential additions and renovations. Founded in 2006, the company has seen exponential revenue growth year after year.
"We work hard to turn home owners' dreams into reality. We work closely with customers to customize homes and garages to work within their budget, while still ensuring the highest quality design and product selection," Jeremy Mercer, CEO of Mercer's continues "and we continue to focus on three core values: quality, affordability and outstanding customer service."
"The members of the PROFIT 500 are the elite of the country's entrepreneurial community," says James Cowan, Editor-in-Chief of Canadian Business and PROFIT. "Their stories are lessons in business strategy, innovation, management excellence and sheer tenacity."
Mercer's truly does set itself apart from other builders - in more than one way. For starters, with respect to customization of homes and garages. Instead of only offering pre-designed plans, dedicated in-house architect and designers are able to customize homes to meet any home owner's needs and wants. Another key difference is the company focuses on "Lifelong" homes, by utilizing 16 design criteria that takes into consideration building accessibility and usability, or future physical requirements a home owner may encounter as they age. Designing with the 16 "Lifelong" design criteria ensures that future upgrade cost if any, are minimal, and more importantly possible. Building with aging requirements, or just general physical restrictions in mind includes, but is not limited to, designing with entrance level living space, wider doors and hallways, designing bathroom walls to allow for future provision of grab rails, etc.
Mercer's was ranked #2 for fastest growing companies in Atlantic Canada last year by Progress Magazine and has been awarded Nova Scotia Home Builders' Association Peter Kohler Peak Awards, a designation presented for exceptional work in construction. Mercer's has also been chosen as one of the two builders for the Seven Lakes Development in Porters Lake, and ground is breaking next week on the first model home.
