Media availability - Conference Board of Canada available to comment on upcoming Ontario budget

OTTAWA, April 21, 2015 /CNW/ - Matthew Stewart, Associate Director, National Forecast, The Conference Board of Canada, will be available to comment on Ontario's 2015 budget to be tabled on April 23.

The Conference Board's most recent provincial forecast has Ontario's economy projected to grow by 2.9 per cent this year, bolstered by strong exports and consumer spending. Despite a more positive outlook for the provincial economy, however, eliminating its deficit by 2017–18 will require a considerable degree of fiscal restraint in program spending given Ontario's fiscal deficit is currently running at well over $10 billion a year.

Matthew Stewart will be in Toronto on April 23 and available for interviews.
