MPs, Senators and journalists invited to get a health check-up
OTTAWA, May 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Doctors from across Canada will be making a House Call to Parliamentarians on May 23 when the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will meet with MPs and Senators to discuss important health care issues. The CMA will also host a breakfast and health clinic on Parliament Hill on that day.
At the breakfast, CMA President Dr. Anna Reid will speak about the need for decision-makers to listen to Canadians and put health at the top of the policy agenda. At the health clinic, MPs, Senators and journalists will be able to obtain instant cardiovascular and diabetes risk assessment. The clinic is being conducted by Clinemetrica, an independent research and corporate health organization. Nurses and doctors will be on hand to answer health-related questions and assess test results.
