MEDIA ADVISORY-Territorial Immigration Exception: A Key Lever for Vaudreuil-Soulanges on the Eve of the New Hospital Opening

Ms. Danie Deschênes, Mayor of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot and Chair of Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges (DEV), invites members of the media to a press conference calling on the Governments of Canada and Quebec to grant a territorial immigration exception to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC--an essential measure to address the region's urgent labour needs.

In a context marked by tighter immigration rules and the planned opening of the new hospital in 2028, which will generate 3,500 new jobs, the region is facing a critical labour shortage.

DEV believes that swift, targeted government action tailored to the territory's realities is crucial to support economic development and ensure the continuity and quality of services for the population.
