Media Advisory - Ontarian poised to take control of International Space Station
TORONTO, Dec. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, is pleased to send greetings and best wishes on behalf of all Ontarians to Commander Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency as he blasts off for the International Space Station (ISS).
Commander Hadfield, a proud Ontarian who hails from Sarnia, marks another first as he becomes the first Canadian to command the ISS. He will spend six months away from Earth.
The Lieutenant Governor, having interviewed Commander Hadfield many times over the course of his previous career as a veteran news reporter, sends goodwill and congratulations to the commander, noting that he will be intently following the journey on Twitter.
