Media Advisory - Official closing of the commemoration of 400 years of French presence in Ontario

PENETANGUISHENE, ON, June 8, 2016 /CNW/ - Join the Office of Francophone Affairs, the Ontario Heritage Trust and the Town of Penetanguishene for a special event to mark the official closing of the commemoration of 400 years of French presence in Ontario.

This free event is open to the public, offering a series of fun and educational activities commemorating Champlain's legacy from a variety of perspectives.

Date:	Friday, June 10, 2016
Timing:	9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Youth and family programming, including hands-on activities, Franco-Ontarian and Indigenous demonstrations and musical performances by Ariko, The Sacred 4 Directions Singing and Drumming Group, the Huron-Wendat dance troupe Sandokwa, les petits chanteurs de Saint-Louis and Joëlle Roy
	10:30 a.m. Official remarks by special guests
	11:45 a.m. Unveiling of provincial plaques commemorating "Champlain in Ontario, 1615" and official opening of Legacy Walkway at Rotary Champlain Wendat Park
