The Toronto Maple Leafs will celebrate two of their own legends in a special ceremony ahead of the Haggar Hockey Hall of Fame Legends Classic at Air Canada Centre this Sunday. Bronze statues honouring George Armstrong and Syl Apps will be unveiled on Leafs Legends Row Sunday afternoon in front of family, friends and fans. The ceremony, presented by the Toronto Area Ford Dealers, will see Armstrong and Apps become the sixth and seventh Leafs added to Legends Row joining: Ted Kennedy, Johnny Bower, Darryl Sittler, Borje Salming and Mats Sundin. |
Unveiled in 2014, Leafs Legends Row is a tribute to the great men that Leafs Nation was built on, and a shrine dedicated to preserving their legacy. Since its installation, the bronze statues have become a must-see destination for visitors to Toronto and Leafs Nation faithful. |
