SHERBROOKE, QC, Oct. 13, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - For the second consecutive year, Bishop's University and the Université de Sherbrooke have been ranked highest for student satisfaction, placing Sherbrooke as the ideal region in Canada to get a university education. That is the finding of a survey of 23,988 Canadian university students published this week in Maclean's magazine.
Université de Sherbrooke and Bishop's University: Top in Their Categories
"These exceptional rankings confirm that our universities deliver educational experiences and living environments which are very highly appreciated by students across Canada. These rankings are based on the quality of interactions with staff as a whole, an educational experience responding to individual needs, a collaborative approach, and little red tape, which translates into students being placed at the centre of the university process. We have joined our voices because we share pride in the quality of our universities," underscored Pierre Cossette and Michael Goldbloom, the heads of both institutions.
The two Sherbrooke universities ranked top in their respective categories with respect to student satisfaction: the Université de Sherbrooke, in the category of Canadian universities with a medical school, and Bishop's University, in the category of primarily undergraduate universities. To win the top spot, they received the highest aggregate score in five of the ten indicators that students were asked to assess in the survey.
The two universities ranked first in Canada for experiential learning, the least bureaucracy and red tape, the quality of interactions with course instructors, student-life staff, and administrative staff in general.
"We would like to express our profound appreciation to our faculty, staff and students for all of their contributions. This is truly a team effort" have added Michael Goldbloom and Pierre Cossette.
