IHSA Partners with eCompliance to Provide Members with Innovative Software Solutions for Managing Safety Compliance
TORONTO, April 2, 2013 /CNW/ - eCompliance Management Solutions Inc. (eCompliance) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA). This partnership will help the IHSA provide its members with innovative solutions to meet their occupational health and safety requirements effectively and efficiently. The solution, IHSA My Health and Safety Program, is designed to reduce the administrative burden of complying with changing provincial regulations and will provide companies with web-based tools to better manage recurring safety processes such as training requirements, inspections, and corrective actions.
"We are excited to offer another solution that will engage our membership to effectively manage their OHS requirements, prove due diligence and become safer organizations. We also recognize the value technology can bring to employers by increasing administrative efficiencies and focus, which will save them time and money", said Paul Casey, Vice-President of Programs and Strategic Development at IHSA. "It is because of eCompliance's reputation for exceptional quality and service that we decided to partner with them to deliver this solution to over 95,000 of our member firms in the construction, transportation, electrical, aggregates, pipe-line, ready-mix concrete, and utilities industries across Ontario."
The IHSA is recognized by the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board as a designated trainer. All the programs that IHSA offers meet Ontario safety regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
The IHSA My Health and Safety Program is a web-based tool that consists of two parts. The first is a health & safety program essentials course that provides participants with the fundamentals of Ontario's health and safety system so that companies can build and maintain a safety program in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.
The second component is the online health and safety management system. It helps a company effectively manage many health and safety functions from a centralized location. It includes a step-by-step process to build a program that is compliant with provincial requirements and the tools necessary to effectively manage recurring safety tasks such as monitoring employee training requirements, maintaining compliance documents, and conducting inspections from a mobile device.
Ben Snyman, Founder of eCompliance remarked, "IHSA is a true pioneer in the industry and is rising to the challenges facing various high-risk sectors in Ontario. We are privileged to have this opportunity to bring a first-of-its-kind solution that can help create safer workplaces for hundreds of thousands of people and help achieve IHSA's vision for zero workplace incidents, injuries and illnesses."
ABOUT IHSA
IHSA is the leading developer and provider of prevention solutions for work environments involving high-risk activities such as working at heights, working with high voltage electricity, driving motor vehicles, transportation of dangerous goods, suspended access, and hoisting and rigging.
IHSA was formed in January 2010 by amalgamating the Construction Safety Association of Ontario (CSAO), the Electrical & Utilities Safety Association of Ontario (E&USA), and the Transportation Health and Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO). By combining resources, IHSA is able to serve its industries better than it could separately. IHSA is uniquely positioned to support organizations with high-risk health and safety solutions because of the extensive knowledge and experience of their consultants, trainers, and program developers, who have all worked in the industries they serve.
