Harry Rosen Opens Doors to New Yorkville Flagship, Marking the Next Chapter for Canada's Leading Menswear Retailer
Now officially open, the 153 Cumberland Street footprint reimagines the luxury shopping experience through exceptional hospitality, craftsmanship, and personalized service
TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2026 /CNW/ -- Luxury men's retailer Harry Rosen has officially opened the doors to its new Toronto flagship at 153 Cumberland Street, marking a major milestone in the evolution of the iconic Canadian brand. Relocating from its longstanding Bloor Street home less than 200 metres away, the new nearly 38,000-square-foot, three-storey flagship represents the next generation of Harry Rosen, bringing together exceptional tailoring, world-renowned brands and a hospitality-driven experience into a new home for Canadian menswear.
Located in the heart of Yorkville overlooking the Village of Yorkville Park, the new flagship brings Harry's to a more intimate setting, reflecting how luxury retail has evolved from a place to shop into a destination to spend time, build relationships, and discover personal style. Every detail of the experience has been thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration, conversation and connection while remaining rooted in the personalized service Harry Rosen has become known for over more than seven decades.
The Cumberland Street opening is also the centrepiece of Harry Rosen's $50 million investment to reimagine its retail stores and customer experience across Canada. The multi-year transformation has already introduced the brand's next-generation store concept at West Edmonton Mall (Edmonton), First Canadian Place (Toronto), and Oakridge Park (Vancouver). The investment follows years of digital transformation for the retailer and underscores Harry Rosen's continued belief in the role of exceptional physical and omnichannel retail in building lasting client relationships.
"For more than 70 years, our business has been built on relationships," says Larry Rosen, CEO, Harry Rosen. "This new flagship is a reflection of where Harry Rosen is today and where we're headed. While the way that clients shop continues to evolve, what hasn't changed is our belief that exceptional service, trusted expertise and human connection are at the heart of the luxury retail experience.."
A New Kind of Harry Rosen Experience
Designed in partnership with renowned Canadian design firm dkstudio architects inc., the flagship takes inspiration from the Grand Tour of Italy, the centuries-old journey through the country's centres of art, architecture, and culture. The concept draws a direct connection to Harry Rosen's own history, referencing its roots in tailoring and its longstanding role introducing Canadian clients to some of Italy's most celebrated fashion houses.
That journey unfolds across all three floors, with each space drawing on a different expression of Italian design and Harry Rosen's tailoring heritage. Entering through a Cumberland Street facade inspired the movement in fabric when it's set down on a tailor's working table, clients arrive in a space inspired by Turin and Northern Italy, where Italian marble, walnut and bronze frame a dramatic central staircase and soaring atrium. The staircase itself takes cues from a beautifully constructed suit, with a minimal exterior revealing a warm walnut lining within. On the second floor, the experience moves to Rome, where the curves of Piazza Navona inspire a more intimate shopping environment and dedicated luxury brand spaces. The journey culminates on the third floor, home to the Private Client Suite Loft space and Made-to-Measure consultation area, where a light-filled tailoring room, marble and bronze tailor's tables bring more than 70 years of Harry Rosen's craftsmanship and personal service into the experience.
Throughout the store, clients will discover many of the world's most respected luxury menswear houses, including dedicated shop-in-shops from ZEGNA, TOM FORD, Canali, Giorgio Armani, Kiton and Berluti, alongside an immersive fragrance destination featuring Creed. At the heart of the experience is Harry Rosen's sartorial expertise. The Tailored Room brings together an exceptional selection of quality tailoring in a dedicated environment serviced by expert Style Advisors who can guide clients through everything from finding their first great suit or sportjacket to building a complete wardrobe.
Welcoming Clients to Menswear's New Home
Hospitality is woven throughout the store, including dedicated spaces for clients to meet and spend time, as well as an outdoor event patio overlooking the park. The flagship will also come to life through ongoing cultural and community programming, including Sundays with Harry lifestyle experiences, creating new reasons to visit Cumberland Street beyond shopping and further establishing the store as a destination within Yorkville.
The move also marks an important new chapter in Harry Rosen's longstanding relationship with Yorkville. The company's Bloor Street flagship has been a fixture of the neighbourhood for decades; moving deeper into Yorkville allows the brand to remain firmly rooted in the community while creating an entirely new expression.
As Harry Rosen continues its evolution under its third generation of family leadership, Cumberland Street brings together the elements that have defined the company since 1954 with a new vision for what luxury retail can offer today.
"This flagship is all about creating a place where clients want to spend their time," says Ian Rosen, President & Chief Operating Officer. "We want every visit to feel truly personal, carrying forward the way Harry made people feel from the very beginning: taken care of."
