EVENKO launches the EVENKO FOUNDATION "In Harmony with our Youth"

MONTREAL, May 25, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - evenko held a press conference earlier today announcing the launch of the evenko foundation. The mission of the evenko Foundation is to encourage youth between 5 and 25 years of age to practice the performing arts to boost their self-esteem and stimulate their creativity as well as their desire to learn and perfect their skills. The evenko foundation also aims at supporting emerging talent.

"Strengthened by the credibility it has built over the years, evenko is conscious of the responsibility it has towards the cultural community," said evenko's Executive Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer Jacques Aubé. "It is for this reason that we are marking our fifth anniversary by accentuating our involvement in the community and launching the evenko foundation, in order to support homegrown talent in a wide variety of performing arts."

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

The evenko foundation will fund projects by non-profit organizations for programs that assist young people in a well-defined structure, clear plans and with supporting partners.

"We want to contribute in a tangible way to the cultural growth and evolution of our young people," said evenko foundation President Roman Oryschuk. "Cultural organizations or schools wishing to present a project aimed at encouraging and supporting the practice of performing arts and that meet our selection criteria are eligible for funding by the foundation."

START-UP FUNDS

The evenko foundation has start-up funds of some $350,000 coming from Osheaga Festival ticket sales from 2012 to 2014 ($1 per ticket sold). Furthermore, inaugural fundraising activities will take place in the coming weeks.
