Two campaigns rolling out this fall invite students and the business community to rethink drinking culture in their respective settings.
MONTREAL, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ -- Éduc'alcool is launching two campaigns this fall to challenge drinking norms on Quebec's post-secondary campuses and in its workplaces. Given alcohol's prominent role in social life in these settings, both are key areas of focus for the organization. By questioning the norms and habits that make drinking seem routine, or even expected, Éduc'alcool aims to build lasting awareness and create environments where everyone feels free to choose whether or not to drink.
Two Distinct Settings. Two Tailored Approaches.
Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all message, Éduc'alcool is tailoring each campaign to the settings where social habits take shape. Both campaigns offer practical, easy-to-use tools to help shift these habits, without judgment or lectures.
"Responsibility for alcohol consumption cannot rest solely on individuals, whether they are managers, employees, or students. The context in which drinking occurs matters. Through these targeted campaigns, we want to share relevant, practical messages that reflect the lived realities of the people we're trying to reach," said Josée Côté, Executive Director of Éduc'alcool.
On Campus: Promoting Choice and Developing Key Skills Around Alcohol
Designed for students at Quebec CEGEPs and universities, the "Get Good at Going Out" campaign aims to make drinking less--or not drinking at all--a normal, accepted choice. It emphasizes personal choice, staying in control and supporting friends, with practical strategies students can put into action. Digital content, advertising on social media and audio platforms, and on-campus signage will connect students with Éduc'alcool's tools, including the Calcoholator and the Standard Drink Pourer.
In the Workplace: Rethinking Drinking Norms and Promoting More Inclusive Practices
The "Does Alcohol Have Any Business in Business?" campaign speaks to the professionals responsible for organizational culture, employee well-being, and occupational health and safety, such as team leaders, HR professionals, and event planners. It encourages organizations to take a step back and examine the often unquestioned role alcohol plays in networking, team-building activities, celebrations, and corporate gatherings. The campaign brings attention to the effects on people and organizations that businesses may overlook, and offers practical ways to change established practices, respect different choices around drinking, and keep events welcoming and enjoyable. Both campaigns are running across Quebec throughout the fall, in French and English. The multi-channel rollout includes digital advertising, social media, articles and sponsored content in the news media, podcasts, web banners, and signage in locations that reach students and business professionals. These initiatives are supported by practical resources on Éduc'alcool's platforms.
