Degrassi star to host special holiday webcast at Centennial College

TORONTO, Dec. 17 /CNW/ - Cassie Steele, a star on the hit CTV series, Degrassi - The Next Generation, will hold a special live webcast concert at The Centre for Creative Communications, Centennial College, on Friday Dec. 18 at 9 pm.

Steele, a Canadian actress and singer-songwriter, is best known for portraying Manny Santos on Degrassi. She also appeared in the 2007 MTV movie, Super Sweet 16: The Movie, and wrote and recorded the song "Prayer" which was used nationally to promote HIV/AIDS awareness. Her recent album, Destructo Doll, was released in July 2009.

The webcast is being produced by Centennial College students in the Broadcasting and Film program, and will feature acoustic selections, guest performances and merchandise giveaways. The evening will be hosted by David Robert, the creator of the popular website.

The Centre for Creative Communications, located in East York, is the home to the School of Communications, Media and Design, and is the set location of the original Degrassi High television series produced in the early 1990s.
