Cadillac Fairview invests $1 million to build the Hospital of the Future
Women's College Hospital named charitable partner of the annual Cadillac Fairview Golf Classic
TORONTO, Aug. 13, 2015 /CNW/ - Women's College Hospital (WCH) and Women's College Hospital Foundation (WCHF) are thrilled to announce a major commitment of $1 million from The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited ("Cadillac Fairview"), one of North America's largest owners, operators and developers of commercial real estate. The gift is pledged through proceeds from the company's popular annual Cadillac Fairview Golf Classic, of which Women's College Hospital has been named charitable partner.
Cadillac Fairview's generous commitment will help build the Hospital of the Future, Women's College Hospital's state-of-the-art new home at 76 Grenville Street in Toronto, which is scheduled for completion in fall 2015. A generous long-time partner of Women's College Hospital, the company's new pledge is its largest investment in WCH to date.
"Women's College Hospital is one of the most innovative, future-forward healthcare institutions in the world," said John M. Sullivan, president & chief executive officer of Cadillac Fairview. "The values and vision of this hospital could not be more closely aligned with those of Cadillac Fairview, which has a mandate to support the health, well-being and welfare of Canadians through philanthropic leadership. Selecting this hospital as our charitable partner of the Cadillac Fairview Golf Classic was an easy and exciting decision."
The opening of WCH's new hospital facility strengthens Women's College Hospital's position as a world leader in the health of women, expanding on WCH's mandate to provide exemplary ambulatory (outpatient) care for women and their families and develop innovative solutions to solve some of the most pressing challenges facing our healthcare system.
"Women's College Hospital is incredibly proud and grateful to build our partnership with Cadillac Fairview as we work together to transform the future of healthcare," said Katherine Hay, president & CEO of Women's College Hospital Foundation. "This extraordinary organization is among Canada's most dedicated and passionate corporate leaders of healthcare philanthropy. With this landmark commitment to Women's College Hospital, it is now also positioned as one of our nation's leading champions of the well-being and success of women and their families."
This year's sold-out Cadillac Fairview Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015, at RattleSnake Point Golf Club in Milton, Ontario (www.cfgolfclassic.ca).
