MONTREAL, Dec. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - From Saturday, December 26, 2009, through Sunday, January 3, 2010 (Closed on January 1) the Montréal Science Centre invites youths backstage to take control of the show! Backstage Access opens the back door to all those who wish to explores the secrets of stage technology by welcoming youths and allowing them privileged access to all technical equipment used to produce a show. Here's a special chance for Montréal Science Centre visitors to step behind the scenes of a real show! It's a real-time show and you're at the controls! Handle the projectors and sound consoles, take a shot at video mapping, meet the technical wizards and have some great science fun!
The Techniques behind a great show!
IN THE WINGS - Wow! Professional stage equipment! Try out lighting effects, learn how to work a sound console, play with black light effects, handle set changes and more.
Take the controls!
IN THE THEATER - They're waiting for you to start the rehearsal! Guided by a professional director and stage manager, you'll become sound or lighting technicians, videographers, propmen and propwomen or mechanics. From behind the scenes or out in front, at the control console, you'll direct the effects for a scene from a spy story, a tragedy or a musical. Get ready! All the lights will be turned on ... you!
- Scene and team changes every 30 minutes

- Sessions in English at 1:40 and 4:10 p.m

IN THE AUDITORIUM - Meet the showbiz pros. An interactive demonstration with technical wizards who put on some performance magic for you - before your very eyes!

STRANGE MATTER's hands-on technologies and interactive experience let visitors of all ages investigate the structure of materials and their intriguing and remarkable properties. The exhibit captures advanced material used in high-tech fields such as the space program and cardiac surgery and reveals them in more common places, from the shoes that you wear and the dishes you eat off to the CDs you listen to and the bike or skateboard you ride!
