BOISBRIAND, QC, Sept. 16, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The tragic events that occurred yesterday underneath the structure of the Champlain Bridge have been very difficult for Groupe TNT and all its employees. Investigations are underway regarding the circumstances of the event, with which the company is cooperating fully.
M. Dany Cléroux was a very well liked, competent and experienced site foreman who applied a safety-first approach; he had worked for Groupe TNT for over 10 years. His passing is a heavy loss for his family and loved ones, but as well for all his work colleagues and the company.
As soon as the event occurred, Groupe TNT mobilized all its resources to assist in the search efforts and quickly contacted the Sûreté du Québec and the CSST. Groupe TNT also made all its internal resources available to the family of the victim and to all the company's employees and their families in order to provide guidance and support, as well as the psychological assistance they may need to cope with this situation.
Groupe TNT would like to stress that it considers its employees to be its primary resource and that their health and safety lie firmly at the heart of the company's values.
Groupe TNT will continue to collaborate closely and fully with the CSST and all government authorities during the course of the ongoing investigations.
The company will not be granting interview regarding this matter.
